Mr Ciaran Canney Bsc (Hon) MChs - Lead Podiatrist

As the director and lead podiatrist I have responsibility for the day to day running of the clinic. Before training as a podiatrist I worked in the regional burns and plastic surgery unit, RVH Belfast and have executed roles in many disciplines such as dermatology and general practice. In practice I have a keen interest in surgical procedures.

I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, sitting on the podiatric medicine faculty board. I'm the former secretary for the Glasgow branch of the College of Podiatry and an educational facilitator for Glasgow Caledonian University podiatry students.

I truly believe that Foot Medic is at the forefront of change within our profession. Together with our team we are working to build a very patient centred, comprehensive service. Podiatry genuinely excites me and I want to demonstrate just how life changing it can be.

I love my job and love meeting patients, both existing and new. Outside clinic, I enjoy running, albeit slowly, hill walking and spending time with family.
Mr Ciaran Canney Bsc (Hon) MChs - Lead Podiatrist at Foot Medic
Mrs Nicola McGrath Bsc (Hon) MChs Pod - Associate Podiatrist

I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2007 with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Physiology. I had a desire to focus on a particular medical field and enrolled in Podiatry at Glasgow Caledonian University and subsequently graduated in 2011 with a 1st Class Honours Degree.

Since graduating I have gained experience within the NHS, developing a special interest in Diabetes, an area in which I continue to carry out scientific research. Further to this, I have been involved in the teaching of foreign Masters Students and Undergraduate Students at Glasgow Caledonian University regarding the significant relationship between Diabetes and the foot. I am also particularly interested in rheumatoid arthritis, vascular assessments, biomechanics, and dermatology.

I’m an enthusiastic and driven podiatrist who enjoys all aspects my job. I’m willing to provide treatment and advice wherever I can and I am committed to providing the highest quality of professional care to my patients.
Mr Martin Mc Cafferty Bsc (Hon) MChs Pod - Associate Podiatrist

I believe that footcare is of great importance. Prior to my training as a podiatrist, I was working as a sports therapist, which is where I developed a keen interest in working with athletes, their rehabilitation and biomechanics of sporting movements. Having suffered several sporting injuries during my younger days, I felt like I could use my experience to aid others.

My main podiatric interests include biomechanics and podopaediatrics. Podiatry is a very exciting career, one which provides a great deal of variety and satisfaction. To me, the best part of my job is hearing a patient tell me just how much of an impact I have made.

The greatest experience of my podiatry adventure would be when I volunteered at The Special Olympics in Los Angeles in the summer of 2015. This gave me invaluable experience of working with podiatrists from all over the world, treating and screening athletes, young and old, with intellectual disabilities.

In my spare time, I enjoy attending football games with my dad, something I have been doing since I was 5 years old. However, my fiancé currently has me planning a wedding, so there’s no real time for football!
Ms Evelyn McGee Bsc (Hon) MChs Pod - Associate Podiatrist

My name is Evelyn. Prior to studying podiatric medicine, I completed a degree in health science and physiology.

Combining my previous degree and podiatry fuelled my passion for sports biomechanics. I have worked in both the UK and New Zealand.

My main area of expertise and focus is lower limb rehabilitation and running retraining. Having worked extensively with various sporting professionals including elite commonwealth and olympic athletes.

If you’re suffering from a sporting injury and/or struggling with your rehabilitation or even need help increasing your performance from a biomechanical aspect then book in for a consult and we can work together to achieve your goals.
Ms Areti Constantinou Bsc (Hon) MChs Pod - Associate Podiatrist

After spending 3 years in sunny Brighton, I graduated in 2015 with a degree in podiatry. My passion and interest to work with children lead me to complete my Msc at the University of Leeds in Childhood studies, focusing on child sociology, psychology and learning how to interact with children in clinic. I now continue my studies on my own free time, focusing on biomechanics and podopaediatrics.

I previously worked in the midlands and my main areas of interest include podopaediatrics and nail surgery. My favourite quote and number one rule is that ‘the patient won’t care how much you know until they know how much you care’ and I always try to live up to that when seeing patients. I will always welcome you with the most positive and enthusiastic attitude!

I originally come from Cyprus, where I spent the first 18 years of my life and I try to visit my big Greek family as often as I can. I love travelling, reading and cooking!

Ms. Linda Souter.  Assistant Manager

I'm Linda. It's likely that I will be your first point of contact at the clinic. As the assistant manager, I take care of the day to day running of the clinic. I make appointments for our patients as well as co-ordinate the clinical diaries.

I will be happy to help with any queries you have.

When I'm not at work I have a passion for baking and cooking. I enjoy keeping fit and run as often as I can.

Practice Accreditation

Having been awarded and recognised as an accredited practice means that we have been peer reviewed and subject to critical appraisal by the College of Podiatry. We have been assessed on many points including;

  • All staff engage with continued professional development.
  • Patient confidentiality is respected and proper care is taken with patient records, both when used and when destroyed.
  • We explain all treatment options, the associated costs and allow our patients to make informed choices.
  • Appropriate referral pathways exist between us and other healthcare professionals.
  • Our working methods are constantly being reviewed and adapted.
  • All reusable instruments are properly cleaned and sterilised before use
Being awarded accreditation means that we have been deemed to consistently meet high clinical and administrative standards of practice. This is great for patients because it means they can have confidence treatment will be to the high standards they deserve.
